Our Research
Throughout this work, we moved alongside a community to learn from the realities, situated within the broader social, economic, and political conditions that shape participation in drug use, circulation, and trade.
What challenges do women incarcerated for drug offenses face and what is needed to support their reintegration to life outside prison? The study follows women from their lives before incarceration, to their eventual reintegration.
This study follows 18 to 25 year olds from a low-income community near the outskirts of Metro Manila who have past or present experience with drugs, particularly marijuana and methamphetamine or shabu.
The situation of women in detention has garnered much-needed attention over the past decade. The population is one that has often been overlooked due to the relatively small number of women in detention as compared to men.
